Kassandra is the westernmost of the three "fingers" in Halkidiki. The peninsula has been separated for some time from the rest of Halkidiki through a channel at Nea Potidaia and is well known for the clear waters and the breathtaking landscapes.

The busiest beach is probably Xenia Beach; White sand, crystal clear sea and numerous beach bars. Of all the beaches in the area this has the least stones and is pleasant to walk on unlike others close by, such as the Golden Beach. The sea itself is beautiful and you can walk out in shallow waters for a while, while water sports are located nearby making this the ideal beach in the area. It offers lots of activities for the visitors. The parking is in the ruins of the old Xenia hotel. Definitely recommend for a nice relaxing day by the beach.

Golden Beach is only a few minutes’ drive from Pefkochori. Beautiful calm sea, but pebbly once in the water. A bit rocky, but that makes it ideal for snorkelling and diving since the area is rich of sea life. Less busy than Xenia Beach but definitely a must if you’re visiting Kassandra.

Many people think the area has been named after the nearby beach-bar but the truth is Glarokavos is the little harbour that also gave its name to the beautiful beach and beach-bar located next to it. The harbour is a good shelter for small boats, has a nice beach front and lots of pine trees around.

Siviri Beach is on the west coast of Kassandra and it’s perfect for kids and families. A bit narrow, but sandy and not extremely busy. There are quite a few beach bars with sunbeds and a nautical centre for those interested. Free parking nearby is available and there are showers and changing rooms to make your lives easier.

Not far away from Siviri, Posidi Beach offers a big variation; fine sand to pebbles or small to medium-sized cobbles, relatively deserted areas depending on the day, to popular heavy crowded beach bars near the Camping. In general, very clear waters with incredible colours in all the shades of blue! Undoubtedly, Posidi ranks among the Top 10 beaches in Halkidiki and one of the best beaches in Greece.

Afitos or Athitos is a traditional village in Kassandra Halkidiki which is located 83 km away from Thessaloniki. It has an amazing view of Toroneos gulf as the village is built on a hill overlooking the coast. Most houses are built of stone with an excellent architecture. Small squares, cobbled streets and traditional taverns create a beautiful scenery totally harmonized with the natural landscape. Visitors also have the opportunity to admire the unique architecture of the church of St. Demetrius which was built in 1859 and is located in the central square and also mansions and famous sculptures of Vassilis Pavlis. In the village center you will find the folklore museum which houses various art exhibitions and you can see tools and utensils used in the past by local residents. A very good option for a night out.

Hanioti is a small and very picturesque village in Halkidiki, situated on the peninsula's first prong, only an hour drive from Thessaloniki and a few minutes’ walk if you are staying at the Hilltop. Upon arrival, every visitor will be captivated by this small picturesque paradise, that has been designed to cater for the needs of even the most discerning traveller and guarantee a relaxing and memorable stay. The village features hotels with all the necessary facilities, numerous restaurants and traditional taverns that will satisfy every family, as well as modern bars and dance-clubs geared to providing evening entertainment to all age-groups.

The cave was discovered accidentally in 1959 by a local shepherd who was looking for a spring. Two men were lowered down and later described a large number of chambers and corridors, totaling 8 to 10 meters high with rich and beautiful formations of speleothems (stalactites and stalagmites).

The systematic excavations of the Cave began in 1965 by the founder of the Anthropologic Company of Greece, anthropologist professor Aris Paulianos. His researches proved that the Arhanthropos is about 700.000 years old, and this makes him the “oldest” European. This age was determined after the detailed analysis of stratigraphy (until today 28 geological layer have been revealed), and after studying the primitive and Paleolithic tools as well as the palaiofauna that were discovered in almost all the layers.

Among the fossils of animals that have extinct the following are included: lions, hyenas, bears, panthers, elephants, rhinoceros, megakeroi, bison and various species of deer and hippo, and also 25 species of birds, 16 species of rodents and 17 species of bats.

In order to verify the age, the contribution of nucleonic is very important. The materials that have been dated are bones, argil, stalagmites and ashes.

These are fire traces – the oldest ones that human has ever lighted.

Petralona cave and museum have been closed to the public since 1/1/2019 due to restoration works and are expected to re-open for summer 2022.

The entrance is allowed daily from 9 a.m.

The Ataturk Museum (Greek: Μουσείο Ατατούρκ, Mousío Atatúrk, Turkish: Atatürk Evi Müzesi, Atatürk House Museum) is a historic house museum in Thessaloniki, Central Macedonia, Greece.

The house is the birthplace of the founder of modern Turkey, Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, who was born here in 1881. It is a three-floor house with a courtyard on 24 Apostolou Pavlou Street, next to the Turkish Consulate. Before the capture of Thessaloniki by the Greek Army in 1912, it was known as “Koca Kasım Paşa district, Islahhane street”. It was built before 1870 and in 1935 the Thessaloniki City Council gave it to the Turkish State, which decided to convert it into a museum dedicated to Mustafa Kemal Atatürk.

The building has three floors and a courtyard. It was repaired in 1981 and was repainted to its original pink. Most of the furniture is authentic. Any missing items were replaced with furniture from Kemal’s mausoleum and from Topkapi Palace in Istanbul. There are photographs on all the walls of Kemal at various periods of his life.

There are four rooms on the ground floor, none of them of much interest to visitors. On the 1st floor is the reception room, with European sofas, a large console table, and a chased brazier; a large sitting-room, with low banquettes around the walls; Kemal’s mother’s room, with a bed, a banquette, and a trunk; and the kitchen, equipped with contemporary cooking utensils. The most impressive room on the 2nd floor is the one in which Kemal was born, a large room with a banquette, his desk, and a large brazier. It faces another room, in which some of Kemal’s personal effects from Ankara are displayed. These include formal dress, smoking requisites, cutlery, cups, and other items. All the documents relating to Kemal’s schooldays have been hung on the walls. A pomegranate tree planted by Kemal’s father still grows in the courtyard.

In September 1955, a bomb exploded close to the Turkish consulate, it damaged also the Atatürk Museum. The damage was minimal with some broken windows. This was the beginning of anti-Greek pogrom in Istanbul. Six years later a Turkish court found that the bombing was ordered by the government of Adnan Menderes, Menderes apologized and offered compensation.

In 1981 a replica of the house was built in Ankara.
